An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM card that is already built into your smartphone. There is no need to insert a physical card — simply scan a QR code and your mobile data plan gets activated instantly. It is a GSMA global standard and is supported by all major smartphones available today.

Most modern phones support eSIM, including:

  • Other Android: Select flagship models from Motorola, Oppo, and OnePlus
To check: Go to Settings → Mobile Data / Cellular → Add eSIM — if this option is visible, your phone is compatible.
Not at all! On dual-SIM phones, the physical SIM and eSIM both work at the same time. You can keep your home number active on the physical SIM and use the Esimsbuy eSIM for data. Simply set the eSIM as your preferred data line in Settings.
Esimsbuy plans are data-only — no separate local number is provided for calls or SMS. However, you can easily make free calls and send messages using WhatsApp, Telegram, iMessage, FaceTime, or any VoIP app — all of these work perfectly on Esimsbuy data.
Your physical SIM will continue to handle regular calls and SMS even when you are abroad.

Plan validity ranges from 7 days to 90 days depending on the plan you choose. Validity begins from the day you first activate the plan. The exact validity is clearly displayed on each plan's product page before purchase.

eSIM Activation

Scan the QR code received on WhatsApp:
  • iPhone: Settings → Cellular → Add Cellular Plan → Scan QR Code
  • Android: Settings → Network & Internet → SIM Cards → Add eSIM → Scan QR Code
You must be connected to Wi-Fi during installation. The QR code can only be scanned once — do not delete the eSIM after installation.
Smart tip: Install the eSIM at home (scan QR), but enable it only after arriving at your destination — this ensures your plan validity starts at the right time.
  • Install (QR scan): Before leaving home — conveniently over Wi-Fi
  • Activate (enable): After landing at your destination — when you actually need data
This way your plan validity begins when you actually need it, giving you maximum value.
eSIM QR codes are single-use only. Once scanned, the QR code becomes invalid and cannot be transferred to another device. If you accidentally deleted the eSIM or need to change your device, contact us immediately on WhatsApp — we will help you.
First check your WhatsApp inbox and also look in the spam folder — messages sometimes get filtered. If you still cannot find it, our WhatsApp support team will assist you immediately. Please keep your order number ready.

Data & Usage

There are three ways:
  • In your phone's Settings → Mobile Data (per-line usage is displayed)
  • By logging into your account dashboard on Esimsbuy Data Hub website
  • By messaging our WhatsApp support team — you will get a reply within a minute
Most plans offer 4G LTE speeds, with 5G also available in select markets. Once the high-speed data is exhausted, unlimited plans reduce speed to 128–256 Kbps — which is sufficient for basic browsing, maps, and messaging. Exact speed details are clearly shown on each plan's product page.
Yes! Most Esimsbuy plans support hotspot/tethering — you can connect your laptop or tablet as well. Some destinations may have carrier restrictions, so please check the hotspot availability in the plan details before purchasing.
Yes, top-up and extension options are available for many plans. Check the add-ons for your active plan in the Esimsbuy account dashboard, or speak to our WhatsApp support team — they will guide you quickly.

Troubleshooting

Try these steps in order:
  • Confirm in phone Settings that the eSIM line is enabled
  • Turn Data Roaming ON for the eSIM line
  • Switch Airplane Mode ON, wait 10 seconds, then turn it OFF
  • Restart your phone
  • Go to Settings → Mobile Data → Network Selection → set to Manual and search for a local carrier
If the problem persists, contact us on WhatsApp with your order number and device model — we are available 24/7.
This means the eSIM has already been installed (QR codes are single-use). First check your phone's SIM settings — the eSIM may already be listed there. If you accidentally deleted it, please contact us with proof of purchase and we will review your case.
There are three main reasons for slow data:
  • Your high-speed data has been fully used (unlimited plans reduce speed after that)
  • The local carrier signal is weak at your current location
  • Data Roaming is not enabled for the eSIM line
Check your balance first. If data is still remaining but speed is slow, try toggling Airplane Mode or use manual network selection to switch to a stronger carrier.

Payment & Refund

Refunds are only available for unactivated eSIM plans — meaning the QR code has not been scanned or installed. Once an eSIM has been installed or activated, a refund is not possible as the service has been delivered. To request a refund for an unactivated plan, contact us on WhatsApp within 24 hours of purchase.
If the eSIM QR code has not yet been scanned, please contact us on WhatsApp as soon as possible — we will do our best to help. Once the eSIM has been installed or activated, cancellation and refund are not possible.
